The art of creating Scotch Whisky

Discover the mystery of highland malts and enjoy a 'wee dram' on a distillery tour. Two working distilleries are located within the immediate vicinity of Southwood B&B, Pitlochry. Both of these distilleries have visitor centres and offer free tours.

Blair Athol

One of the oldest working distilleries in Scotland, this distillery is located in the outskirts of Pitlochry.

Edradour

This is the smallest distillery in Scotland producing only 12 casks a week. It has a picturesque setting overlooking Pitlochry. You may even wish to follow the 'Whisky Trail' from Pitlochry to Aberfeldy to Crieff . This trail permits a variety of distillery visitor centres to be visited.
