The home of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl, Blair Castle has a
history going back more than 700 years. It is Scotland's most visited
private home.
The castle is steeped in history. It was the last castle
besieged in Britain and is the home of Europe's only remaining private
army - the Atholl Highlanders. Its contents show Scottish life from the
16th century to the present and feature a spectacular display of arms
and armour.
Other historical castles such as Glamis and Castle Menzies are within easy reach of
Southwood Bed and Breakfast, Pitlochry.
